In June, we shipped a few major releases that spanned AI improvements for the average user, homepage chat for new and existing users, and performance/stability fixes.
AI Research
AI Research adds Search capabilities to the AI Chat. Research goes deeper than Search, performing whatever amount of Search it takes to answer the question at hand sufficiently. Sometimes AI Research will only need a few sources, but other times it will cite up to dozens of sources to perform the research you're looking for.
Homepage chat
Visitors to quadratichq.com will notice significant changes. Users can easily drag and drop files or get started with a sample prompt, all from the homepage.
Model routing and choice
Often, the most intensive model isn't the right choice for the task. The "Basic" model in Quadratic is ideal for basic analysis. Pro is always available for intensive tasks that require more context and capabilities. Basic is, in most cases, faster but less intelligent; Pro offers the inverse. Pick the tradeoff that makes sense for your use case.
We also added a backup model to our routing. If any requests fail, they'll be filled by a backup model on a different model provider.
Performance and stability
We shipped a few major performance improvements. Quadratic now supports many thousands of formula cells. We also directly responded to a few user stability issues that are now fixed for all users.
Quadratic should feel faster and more capable, with more data able to be placed in the sheet than ever before.
