SOC 2 Type II · HIPAA compliant

The HIPAA-compliant spreadsheet for sensitive data.

Give your teams governed access to sensitive data in the spreadsheet they already know how to use. The data stays inside your security perimeter: no uncontrolled downloads, no unmanaged copies, no gaps in your audit story.

SOC 2 and HIPAA certified

SOC 2 and HIPAA certified.

Independently audited controls, documented and ready for your vendor security review. Everything your compliance and procurement teams need is in our trust center. Handling PHI? Book a demo to talk through HIPAA requirements and a business associate agreement (BAA) for your organization.

HIPAA

Compliant infrastructure for teams working with protected health information.

SOC 2 Type II

Independently audited controls for security, availability, and confidentiality.

Encryption everywhere

TLS 1.2+ in transit and AES-256 at rest, with role-based access control.

AI with zero-day retention

AI models never retain your data, and every change AI makes is visible in the sheet.

Self-hosting available

Enterprises can run Quadratic on their own infrastructure so data never leaves their environment.

Isolated execution

Everything runs in isolated containers with resource limits, separate from other customers.

Data loss prevention

Close the spreadsheet gap in your DLP strategy.

Every CSV export is a copy of your data outside your governance perimeter. Quadratic enforces export policy at the platform level, so no more downloading CSVs.

Turn off downloads and exports

One admin setting removes CSV, Excel, and PDF export across the workspace. Data stays in Quadratic, where access is managed and revocable.

Block copying data out of the sheet

Enterprise teams can prevent copying data out of the sheet entirely, closing the copy-paste path that download controls alone leave open.

Policy enforced centrally, not per user

Controls are set at the workspace level by admins rather than left to individual judgment. New members inherit the same policy from day one, with nothing to configure and nothing to forget.

Access governance

Access granted by policy, not by forwarding.

A live sheet with managed permissions replaces the attachments you can’t take back.

Share with named individuals, per file

Each file is shared with specific people, and sharing can be restricted to your organization, so sensitive data is never one forward away from an outside inbox.

Least-privilege roles

Grant edit access to the team that owns the work and view-only access to everyone else. People see exactly what their role allows, in the same live sheet.

Offboarding that actually offboards

When someone changes roles or leaves the organization, revoke access instantly. Because the data was never downloaded, there are no residual copies on devices to chase down.

Controls only work in tools people actually use.

Locked-down tools get routed around, and every workaround is an unmanaged copy of your data. Quadratic is a real spreadsheet, with cells, formulas, pivots, and charts that work the way Excel users expect, so the governed path is also the easy one.

Formulas you already knowPivot tables & chartsYour .xlsx files import cleanlyReal-time collaboration

Wherever the data is too sensitive to export.

If your policy says the data can’t leave, but your team still needs to work with it, this is the spreadsheet for the job.

Healthcare

Claims & patient data

Let billing and operations teams work with PHI in a HIPAA-compliant sheet instead of exported files that violate policy.

Finance

Accounts & transactions

Analysts reconcile customer accounts and transaction histories without a single statement leaving the workspace.

HR & people ops

Compensation & reviews

Run comp cycles and headcount planning on salary data with access scoped to exactly the people the process requires.

Insurance

Policyholder records

Underwriting and claims teams analyze policyholder data with export controls that satisfy your compliance team.

Legal & compliance

Case & matter data

Work through privileged and confidential records with access that is granted per file and revoked the moment a matter closes.

Customer data

Support & CRM records

Give teams answers from customer PII without distributing full customer extracts across the organization.

A file you email vs. a sheet you control.

Excel and Google Sheets were built to move data around. Quadratic was built to keep it in one governed place.

Security & compliance FAQs

Is Quadratic HIPAA compliant?

Yes. Quadratic is HIPAA compliant and SOC 2 Type II certified, with data encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256). You can review our certifications and policies in the trust center, or book a demo to talk through a BAA and your compliance requirements.

Is Excel HIPAA compliant?

Not on its own. Microsoft offers a BAA that covers Microsoft 365 cloud services, but Excel’s HIPAA story breaks down at the file level: the moment a workbook with PHI is downloaded, emailed, or copied to a personal device, it leaves the covered environment and your control. A HIPAA-compliant spreadsheet like Quadratic closes that gap by keeping PHI in a governed workspace where downloads and exports can be turned off.

Do I need a BAA to use a spreadsheet with PHI?

Yes. Under HIPAA, any vendor that stores or processes protected health information on your behalf is a business associate, so you need a business associate agreement (BAA) in place before PHI touches the tool — and that applies to spreadsheet software like anything else. Beyond the BAA, look for encryption, access controls, and export restrictions. Book a demo to talk through a BAA with Quadratic.

How does Quadratic keep sensitive data from leaving the platform?

Admins can turn off downloads and exports for the whole workspace, so analysis happens in Quadratic rather than in exported files. Enterprise teams can also block copying data out of the sheet and restrict sharing to approved members of the organization. Teams get a full spreadsheet to work in, and the data stays inside a perimeter you control.

Can I stop people from downloading CSVs?

Yes. Download and export controls are a team-level admin setting. Once disabled, members can’t export to CSV, Excel, or PDF from any file in the team.

Can I control exactly who a sheet is shared with?

Yes. Files are shared with specific people, each with a viewer or editor role, and admins can prevent sharing with anyone outside the team. Access can be revoked instantly, per person, at any time.

Do employees need to learn a new tool?

No. Quadratic is a spreadsheet, with cells, formulas, pivots, and charts that work the way Excel users expect. Your existing .xlsx files import cleanly, so nobody needs new training to work securely.

What about AI and our sensitive data?

All AI models used by Quadratic operate under a zero-day data retention policy, so your data is never stored or used for training. Every change AI makes lands in the sheet where you can see and review it.

Can we self-host Quadratic?

Yes. Enterprises with stricter requirements can self-host Quadratic on their own infrastructure, so data never leaves their environment.

Give your team the spreadsheet. Keep the data.

SOC 2 and HIPAA compliant, with enterprise controls your security team will sign off on.
