September was a busy month of bug fixes and continued focus on AI quality.
New AI Models
Default: On Default, you’ll notice a faster, more powerful experience. We are continually shipping improvements to our Default model to ensure a healthy balance of cost and performance for new users.
Max: On Max, we continuously upgrade to the model that performs best on our evaluations. The latest release from Anthropic, Claude Sonnet 4.5, delivers performance comparable to GPT-5 but with significantly faster speed. As a result, we’ve switched the model on Max from GPT-5 to Claude Sonnet 4.5 for our power users to get the best possible experience.
Semantic layer
Have specific quirks about your database you want AI to know about? Anything you enter in the semantic layer field of your connection details will be included in the AI's context.
SQL in left chat
You can now query your connections directly from the left-side AI chat. Previously, this could only be done from the code editor chat, with limited scope. Now, you can run fully agentic SQL queries from the left chat to query your database and immediately start analysis.
We will also be following up soon with lots of improvements to this experience, including better ways to view schema, narrow chat context, and more.
