August was an active month, with many improvements and new features shipped.
New tools and context for AI
We added many new tools for AI to access, including:
- Insert/delete rows/columns
- Table manipulation
- Validations
- Many more
AI should now have nearly complete access to common spreadsheet features. We also significantly improved AI context, with simpler and more comprehensive instructions.

Broader Excel import formatting support
Until now, Excel imports only added data and formula to the sheet. Now we also support formatting on imports, including:
- Font: bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, color
- Background/fill color
- Alignment: horizontal, vertical, wrap text, shrink to fit
- Date, time, datetime
- Number: commas, decimals, scientific, percentage, currency, exponent
- Border: border style, border color
- Layout: column width, row height
SQL schema filtering
One of our most active business users requested SQL schema filtering. We built and shipped the feature same-day. Have a feature you want built? Please let us know.
Bug fixes
We shipped a few minor bug fixes and stability improvements in August.
